How many times have we as wives said were going to do this, this and this? How many times have we said "I am going to lose weight" or "I am going to be that Proverbs 31 wife!"? "My husband and children will one day rise up and call me blessed" How many of you have fallen down? How many have said I have failed in my marriage, in child training, in life in general? I think all of us at some time or another has felt this way and that is exactly where Satan wants us to stay. That old pain in the backside Satan wants us to fall down and stay down. If we would only listen to him for a second and just stay down we would be alright. Right? I don't think so! When we fall, and we will those are the times that we need to stop and reevaluate some things. First we need to look up and see that we are not alone in our feelings or in what is going on in our lives. God says in his word that there is nothing new under the sun. These feelings, set backs, and failures have been around since the fall of man. Second we need to see is there sin in my life, NOTE sin in your life, not your husbands, not your children, but in YOUR life. Confess and give it over to God. Third get up, don't stay down! Fourth you need to encourage yourself in the Lord as David did. Look up scripture that can help you and encourage you. I know I can hear ya all now. "You don't understand I keep falling over the same thing" Yep I think the bible calls that the sin that easily besets you and in order to get over that one is to keep giving it over to God. You can't quite for in quieting you are becoming a complete failure and that is not what God or you want.
