The Perfect Gift

Here it is again another Christmas come and gone.  Here is a Holiday wake up call to all those Scrooges and Grinches.  I heard today of all days of some tragedies around the holidays and of all the stress.  Then I remember of some churches and see some who condemn Christmas as a pagan holiday and never show the world the true reason for the season.  I understand that we were not asked when we should celebrate Christ birth cause if we Baptist were asked we would have said with all our knowledge it was in June or July of course cause WE said so.  *Hint no one can say what month he was born in.  It matters little that the world has actually observed this holiday when Satan would love nothing better than to destroy it.  HEY CHRISTIANS we are missing the opportunity to show what Jesus wants us to show year round.  Love, Compassion, and Respect for our fellow man.  It is time that we share the joy of this holiday in the spirit in which God himself did.  Christ could have simply, and quitely came into the world with no fan fare, but then the world would not have noticed or cared (yeah Satan would have loved that), but God put a special star for all to see and find the child not just for the wise men, but for all throughout the generations all have been called to the hope of salvation.  God sent special heavenly messengers to sing and tell the glorious news of the birth to the lowest of all people, poor shepherds watching sheep.  That to show all is welcome to be told of the glorious news "all may come and be saved"  rich, poor, young, or old.  We can not physically give birthday presents to Jesus, but we can surly do the next best thing then.  What is that you might ask?  Simply put we can share a gift with someone else and lift them up when they are down.  Tell them the GLORIOUS, WONDERFUL NEWS THE SAVIOUR IS BORN.  Well then believers shouldn't give gifts to believers.  Wrong Christ also lifted up His followers and showed love to all.  Without a birth there could be no death.  With no death there could be no resurrection.  With no resurrection there would be no salvation.  Think about it the next time you want to open you mouth and show YOUR wisdom, then ask God to forgive you and ask for HIS wisdom, HIS words and then watch GOD BLESS.

Merry Christmas!

Hardig Christmas at Our House

Some of my most favorite things about Christmas are the decorations, watching wondering eyes looking under the Christmas tree, and hearing the sounds of children.  Here is the Hardig Christmas this year at our house.

Merry Christmas to all and to all a goodnight.

Chore Time Idea

We are in our second day of this new chore system.  We are twiking it as we go.  My children are 14 and 12, but I was not really happy with having to go down a list every day and tell them what they needed to do.  So the invention of a chore system has been born.  If you would like to know where to find instructions here is the blog I used.  http://suchtreasures.com/2008/05/08/chore-system-chore-cards/

Caught in the Act

I have always thought of Christmas time, when it has come round, as a good time; a kind, forgiving, charitable time; the only time I know of, in the long calendar of the year, when men and women seem by one consent to open their shut-up hearts freely, and to think of people below them as if they really were fellow passengers to the grave, and not another race of creatures bound on other journeys.  ~Charles Dickens

Memories in the Making

Isn't it funny children no matter what age usually love to hear a good story.  It has always been a dream of my husband and mine that our children grow up with a health love reading.  I started to instill this love in the heart of my son when he was four days old.  I took time every morning to read a little to him.  He understood only that mommy was taking time out of her busy life to share something that was very important to her and daddy.  As he grew so did his love of stories and later when his sister came along that love of reading was passed to her.  Thanks to the children's aunt the children received some neat Christmas books one Christmas and ever since in the month of Christmas shortly after family devotions you will find me and the children, now 14 and 12 in our big, comfy chair reading one of the many Christmas books.  As I sit and watch their faces it brings such joy to me that these are memories that will never be taken away from me nor my children.  One day they too will have children, my grandchildren and I hope and pray they will start their own Christmas memories.

Christmas Time's A Coming

I can't believe Christmas is here once again.  When I was a little girl it seemed that Christmas time never came fast enough and it lasted a lot longer than it does now.  It seems I blink and here it is and blink again and Christmas is over.  I have found though that if you look into the eyes of your children and sometimes your husband I see that Christmas has never really left.

A Thankful Wife

I am thankful this day for the man God gave me.  He is wise and loving.  He is a loving father to his children and a lover to his wife.  He is a man that looks for the answers in the word of God instead of seeking man's answers.  I have seen him grow so much lately and am really enjoying watching his life as he grows closer to the Lord.

A Month of Thanksgiving

"O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever."  Psalms 136:1

In this month of thanksgiving I will blogging about those things that I am thankful for.  I am thankful first and for most that I am a born again child of God.  I received the Lord as my Savior when I was 30 years old.  I came to a point in my life when I realized that I was not capable of saving myself.  That is was not me and God that would save me.  It was in that place I realized that it was God nothing more and nothing less.  Kimberly could do nothing to gain salvation.  You may feel that you have done nothing wrong and that there is no reason to be saved, but God says that "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God..."  if God said that then you know it must mean what it means.  You are in need of Jesus.  Any man/woman that comes any other way Jesus calls them a thief.

Happy Birthday Young Man

"A mother understands what a child does not say."

"The smallest children are nearest to God, as the smallest planets are nearest the sun"

A rose can say "I love you",
orchids can enthrall,
but a weed bouquet in a chubby fist, yes, that says it all.

Learning to coupon

I am learning this new thing called couponing.  I am a fan of the Extreme Couponer show on TLC.  I don't think I'll ever be as extreme as that but I would like to cut my grocery bill.  I finally found a system that suits Kimberly (me).  It is working very well as you can see below.
