Isn't it a neat thing to look at your children and realize they are yours. What an awesome responsibility God has entrusted to you. Last night I was reminded of just such a moment of training. Something had been upsetting my son all day yesterday and he was acting out against it. Now he waited till it was 10:00 in the evening before was ready to talk it out. The tired momma in me was wanting to push it off in my timing and then I was reminded of the JOY of Children. JOY is Jesus first, others second, and yourself last. So what did that have to do with anything J- Jesus says we are to train and instruct our children. O-Others in this case was my son, so Y- yourself needed to take a back burner. This was something so simple and easily overlooked many times in our parenting lives. We forget that it is not always about discipline, but there is training, teaching, loving and yes discipline. So moms take time for your children they are the adults of tomorrow. It is never to late to correct mistakes. God allows U-Turns. Start living in JOY today.

The Bible is Our Child Training Manual
You know it amazes me how people say and yes I have even said it myself that I wished there was a book on how to raise children. You know the christian answer is it has already been written. But one thing the christian seems to fail to say is that you have to look for those answers. I recently had one of my nieces say that to us and when I said the Bible is the child training book she said well I doubt how to deal with a broken frog is in there. No, she was right the broken frog was not in there, but the disobedience of playing with it in the first place was in there. "Children obey your parents..." comes to mind. The fact that one child came and told what he had done was in the Bible as well. The punishment is not as harsh when you "Confess your sins..." We parents need to stop and start asking the author of the Bible what exactly He means. Start looking at what our children are really doing and why they are doing it. I recently read and awesome article on a blog about Tattle tailing and how to turn it to good use according to the Bible.
