Still Learning to Trust

The Lord is such an AWESOME and wonderful loving Father.  As I journey in this world I am finding that God uses the most smallest things and people to show Himself GREAT AND POWERFUL.  Last night as with many other nights was yet another battle with I am scared mommy, I am worried mommy this from our youngest.  She is a notorious worrier (apple does not fall far from the tree).  Well last night I had finally reached my ropes end.  I went so far as saying to God before I left my bedroom "Ok God it is either Satan and his demons who are going to leave or me.  And I am not going anywhere, so please get them outta here"  Anyway the Lord answered that quick prayer and through God's guiding we came up with a plan.  I asked her to go through every room in this house and turn on the lights and look around.  After she did that I sat down with her and pointed the precious Word of God and said do you believe this is God's word and that He wrote every word and meant it.  Of course the answer was yes.  Then I said well you must learn trust it then.  I wrote out the verses that we had come across in our family devotions a few nights earlier Psalm 4:1 & 4:8 that say "Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness; thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer."  "I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety."  I then put on the paper three things she should do when she imagines scary things or has bad dreams.  1.  Pray and tell the Lord how she is feeling, why she is feeling that way and ask for His help.  2.  Read and recite these two verses.  Eventually she will not need the paper for that.  3.  Start singing songs in her mind about the blood.  Satan and his demons HATE the blood and have to flee.  The Lord then seemingly turned to me in my mind and said well you think you got it too.  Yep that's right God was using this child's fear and worry to help me face my own fears.

Making Donuts

I can't believe it how easy it was to make homemade donuts.  I had never tried it and thought it would be difficult, but they turned out pretty easy and fast.  First I used regular biscuits and pushed a hole in them with the end of a knife.  I then heated up some grease in my electric skillet much like a deep frier and put the biscuits in there and waited till they were a deep brown and flipped them and browned the other side.  I then took them out and placed them in a ziplock bag of sugar and shook the bag real well to coat the donuts.  Viola!  DONUTS.

1. Use any brand of biscuits

2.  Poke a hole in the center of the biscuit.

3.  Heat up a bunch of grease in your electric skillet and then throw the biscuits in the hot oil.

4.  Put some sugar in a zip lock bag and set it aside.  When donuts are finished put in the sugar filled zip lock bag and shake.
